From the Mouths and Hearts of Babes - A Song Tribute to Kady

When Kady was in her first year of college she began babysitting for the Vivero family. She instantly fell in love with the entire family and they with her. Little did any of us know just how intertwined our two families would become. She continued as their babysitter until Jordan and Annabella "aged out"! The kids are both gifted musically and shortly before Kady was first diagnosed, Jordan and some friends formed a band called Five Alarm Fire. This is a group of kids - and I really mean kids - who have some of the biggest hearts I've ever seen. They collectively decided to throw a benefit concert to help raise money for hospital bills. It was held on Fran and Lisa Vivero's front lawn and friends, family and neighbors attended, exceeding all expectations! During the concert, someone went to each guest and asked them to describe Kady in one word. My word was "Hero". Jordan never forgot that and had the great idea to take everyone's words and compose a song for Kady. Keep in mind that, at the age of 15, he was the senior member of the band when they recorded this beautiful tribute. Kady was aware that Jordan was in the editing and recording process but, unfortunately, passed before she could hear her beautiful tribute. I will love this family and this group of kids forever for what they have done for Kady and my family, including another tribute which I'll write about later. They are amazing musicians but, more importantly, they are amazing, compassionate young people. I should also mention that they've gone on to record and even have a song available on itunes.
